[this moment] – A Friday ritual. No words – just a brief moment found within our week. A simple, marvelous moment that I want to bottle up and remember forever.

More and more I’m realizing just how much fun neighbors can make your life. They can become friends conveniently located right next door or down the street. I consider us so lucky to have made incredible, lifelong friends through a few of our neighbors. So when the house right next door emptied out this summer, Mike and I became pretty nervous. BUT. But all our fears went out the window when we met Renee and Steve, and their little guy Barrett, who is just six months older than Sophia. Four crazy short months later I feel like I’ve known them forever. It’s a strange and wonderful feeling all at once. That feeling where, if Renee stops by, I really don’t feel the need to move the unfolded clean clothes off my couch. I’m not sure if that makes me come off as a complete slob or just impolite…but I like to think of it as having a certain amount of comfort with her. And there’s only a small amount of people I don’t move my wrinkled clothes for.![]()
Ok, I’ll let you fall in love with them now…and Wrigley too!

I’m seriously in love with these photos! And, although we thought we were moving here for a house with a backyard, what we actually got was awesome neighbors who immediately became amazing friends!! Thank you sooo much!!
Beautiful images! I am sure they are thrilled with these… they are fabulous!
Awesome Jenn! These are so great – I love these!
Awesome!!!!! Renee, I’m sure you’re going to want to display EVERY single one of these…how to choose?
Alyson, I bought them all and I have a few idea where to put them all. I’m keeping a few walls bare just for these!
While it is chilly and in the 40s right now, I thought I’d submit something from our warm hot summer for this weeks’ I Heart Faces challenge. Sophia loves textures and rubbing dirt and other things all over her legs. At this particular park near our house it’s wood chips. Gosh I love those toes.

So sweet
ADORABLE!!!!
Ahh! love the innocence, the pudgy foot, the tongue, everything!
This is absolutely adorable! Funny and cute
. I love how she’s concentrated on doing whatever she’s doing (see her tongue)
Ha! Love this. I love how kids have such intense concentration doing the funniest things.
Super cute!

Oh how I love this little guy and his family. You probably don’t recognize him, but he was once teeny tiny and oh-so newborn. He still holds the record for best newborn sleeper I’ve ever had. But this recent day was a big one for him. Isidoros (aka Sid) was being baptized into the Greek Orthodox Church. Having never been to a Greek Baptism before, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. What I got? A incredibly emotional ceremony and a whole lot of photography goodness. It was beautiful. I felt the way wedding photographers must feel at a church ceremony, or how I feel during births – just so honored to be there capturing it all.

Sid was pretty exhausted afterwards as he decided that today would be the day to skip a morning nap…
